Everyone's heard of the Johnny Cupcakes/Urban Outfitters fiasco...but this kind of stuff happens all the time! Urban Counterfeiters has begun to collect such cases, "bringing American consumers' reports from small companies and artists who have been taken advantage of by large corporations." The end goal is to publicize such creative thievery; "for these corporations to be held accountable for their actions and to change their business practices."

We see this happening in ID constantly. Collective conscience or straight-up stealing--either way, it sucks to feel ripped off. Designers one-up other designers and magazines (print and online) model DIY projects after existing designs, without due credit. The UC collection is a bit modest for now, so if you've been burgled or know someone who has, send in a report!
