If you do enough DIY around your house, eventually you're hanging something from sheetrock, necessitating sheetrock anchors. ITW Buildex's E-Z Ancor is the best we've seen. It's self-drilling (no need to pre-drill!) and designed to go flush with the wall, but by far its best design feature is that when you screw into it, it makes an audible "click" as it snaps open, letting you know it's locked into place. Also nice: when you've screwed up your measuring and need to take the darn thing out, it snaps shut and exits cleanly, leaving a smaller hole without that ragged mess other anchors leave. There's a long (but informative) video about the Ancor at the bottom of this link.
