You know you're doing alright when an old flame rekindles interest in your current property. I'm not talking about college girlfriends, I'm talking about the 18 year hiatus and recently announced return of Autodesk's flagship design program, AutoCAD for Mac and iOS. Slated to ship this fall, AutoCAD for Mac OS X incorporates multitouch gestures on Apple's touch based input devices including MacBook trackpads, Magic Mouse, and the new Magic Trackpad, allowing intuitive document handling and a more visual approach to drawing and layout management.
The new lineup of applications also includes free mobile versions of AutoCAD for Apple's handheld products including the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. Dubbed AutoCAD WS, the free viewer app will allow users to review, edit, and share AutoCAD files on the go, making Apple's platform the sexiest lineup of products to develop products on.
Welcome back AutoCAD. Our fingers are itching to play with your new tools.

What about Revit? Autocad has been supplanted by Revit and its acceptance in the marketplace will accelerate along with the recovery of the architecture field.
As a long time autocad user, this makes me feel all warm inside. :)
Wow! I'm intrigued to see how a program this complex could work on the iphone? It will certainly get a warm welcome back to macsville from us at least!
Awsome!!! It was time......
Exciting, but it seems to me that it's a desperate attempt from Autodesk to recover from the industry shifting to Revit. There should be some good buzz, but I doubt it really picks up.
Great news. What about 3DS Max?
Do you all use Revit? It's really popular but I think AutoCAD is still the standard.
Also worth noting Rhino 3D for mac is due soon and has been in public beta testing for some time now.
