Just had word that the chaps at Priware have launched a new version of their CircuitWorks app. If you haven't seen it before, it allows SolidWorks users to take PCB data (typically, an IDF file) and import it into the world of 3D. The system handles all the board lay-out and hole cutting, component geometry building and part positioning. There's a core of the same product built directly into the SoldiWorks product these days, which is pretty low level stuff, so if you want to import PCB data, perhaps make some mods and reexport that data to your PCB supplier or team, then you'll need the full version...
Of course, if you don't have anything to do with PCB, then you'll have just wasted a couple of minutes reading this, so apologies..

That is pretty powerful. I contracted at a well-known consumer electronics company that had to write a custom Unigraphics add-on to do that.
