Totally scary: this footage of takeoff tests of the Airbus 380 (first) shows the giant bird grinding its tail on the tarmac while sparks fly. Even scarier is the "cross-wind" landing footage (second), where the behemoth appears to be moving sideways more than it's moving forward.

The maneuver in the second video definitely looks impressive, but it is not unique to the A380 (nor does it occur only in test flights). The technique is called "crabbing" and is required when attempting to land an aircraft in significant crosswinds. You can even hear the heavy wind in the video.
it's actually commonplace for airplanes to land into heavy crosswinds that way. the technique allows the aircraft to maintain its lift before it touches down. it looks freaky from the bystander's POV though.
