The Eames are loved by many, not just for their timeless furniture designs, but also for their willingness to learn and initiative to execute creative projects of all genres, shapes, and sizes. A prime example is The Information Machine, a film the couple wrote, directed, and produced for the IBM Pavilion at the Brussels World's Fair in 1958. The animation is nothing like Ratatouille (which one of us here really enjoyed, btw), but it's got lots of character--more than enough to make learning fun. The Eames explain the phenomenon of information gathering from the early thinking days of cavemen to the point where we designed machines to do the thinking for us.
