yup, and it will run your battery down in a flash, tire fixed, starter wont spin....now what LOL
The MacGyver fan in me loves this, but I don't think this is very practical or safe to try and setup in the dark.
Still, it is a very nifty trick. I wasn't aware of lead's ability to glow like that.

Depending where you are from and how bored you were would depend on whether you left the wood on or not. When i did this in the mid 80's with a powerful 12V power supply we left the wood and watched the pencil burst into flames.
wait a minute...at night, you are in the dark until you have made this little contraption...no ?
