"What would Sam Walton do?"
Janelle Kearsley, the Director of Strategy & Sustainability at Wal-Mart, talks about the steps this Big Box is taking to integrate sustainability into their business operations. Sift through the corporate speak and fast forward to her story about vending machines at the end. That's right, WalMart saved $1.2 million in energy by following an employee's suggestion to take the light bulbs out of it's Coca Cola vending machines in break rooms. One small step for refreshment, one giant leap for Mr Walton.

yeah huge gigantic box stores in the suburbs and outskirts that require heaps of gas to ship an go to are eco-friendly. wake up America...
mika,
What you say is true, but a huge company can't become completely eco-friendly overnight. They have a legal and moral obligation to investors, and their low prices help the poor more than any other demographic.
