San Francisco's Zoe Design recently completed work on the CoolGlide Xeo skin treatment system for Altus Medical. Designers at Zoe helped to optimize operator comfort and make the device more "patient friendly." The ergonomic handpiece shapes and soft grip areas allow the operator to use the unit comfortably without fatigue. In addition, the soft shapes and warm colors make the product look non-threatening to the patient, an important consideration since the handpiece is often used on the patient's face.

Along with the handpieces, they designed a very iconic, smart handpiece tree. It securely cradles the two handpieces, while allowing easy operator access. The handpiece tree also automatically identifies the active handpiece in order to reduce operator error and ensure safe operation.
