Christof Ronge, principal of Christof Ronge Design, based in Dreieich, Germany, has recently completed the design of an innovative TFT-Monitor for Xelo AG. The manufacturer operates in an extremely price-aggressive environment of PC prodcuts, and customer buying decisions are often based foremost on visual aspects. For this reason the innovative design of Xelo monitors is used as the primary product differentiator.

Employing a minimal design, the new moniotors have a seemingly weightless base design. The housing takes up little more space than its interior. This combined with the lower elevation conveys an overall image that is slender and lean. The monitor is available in white, silver and black, with the black version of the XELO SP monitors offering a new rubberized exterior instead of the conventional ABS plastics. A leather-like appearance and firm touch underscore its originality. Secondary, seldom used functional elements are easily accessible though discreetly tucked away under the slimmed down housing. The On/Off switch, however, is significantly placed at front and center.
