D-lab -- D-wall

D-lab, a new industrial design division of Edmonton-based Manasc Isaac Architects - has just been awarded a Product Winner Award by Canadian Interiors "Best of Canada - Sixth Annual Design Competition".

D-lab was selected from a field of 142 entries for their innovative D-wall. D-wall is portable, inexpensive and eco-friendly display system. It can be used in a variety of situations, ranging from tradeshows, retail environments and residential interiors. The D-wall was Designed and fabricated by D-lab's Carla Thomas in three days. The first prototype easily fit into a Honda Civic and could be assembled in five minutes. Current generation D-walls can be carried by a single person in a suitcase-sized case. D-wall's segments fold to create display surface that measures 15' wide by 7' tall.

D-wall is constructed of a twin-wall fluted material that is strong, rigid and lightweight. Its semi-translucent panels provide a naturally lit backdrop for graphics, eliminating the need for further lighting. The simple design lowers manufacturing costs, in turn making the D-wall affordable. It is also 100% recyclable.
