Lumation Design, a furniture and interior design firm founded by Michael Walsh and based in Pittsburg, PA, recently created the interior of Bikki, an eclectic French restaurant in Pittsburg's Shadyside neighborhood. The fusion concept of the food was used as a starting point for the design. Modular and sculptural furnishings and fixtures direct the traffic flow, and in turn, maximize seating while utilizing light as the main aesthetic element. In addition to Bikki, Lumation has also designed interiors for The Shady Grove/Walnut Grill, Time Bomb, an urban menswear boutique on Highland Avenue, and the upstairs lounge at Mezzanotte Cafe, in Bloomfield.
