| Minimaforms -- Face Breeder Minimaforms, an architecture studio based in London, exhibited their Face Breeder project in the windows of London's Selfridges department store last month. As part of the London Architecture Bienalle, Selfridges and the Architecture Foundation invited ten architects to respond to 'a new vision of London" for display in their windows. Facebreeder, a collaboration between minimaforms and 00110.org, takes nine discarded computer monitors and connects them into a 3 X 3 grid capable of displaying a single image. The program archives face images in a database, and then creates "a digital breeding lab of monstrous hybrids," displaying composite portraits on the grid of screens. Users are invited to participate by sending their portraits via email for inclusion in the database. More info: www.minimaforms.com More Bullitts From Minimaforms: Date Posted: July 25, 2004 |
