The Float bed is a suspended platform bed designed and produced by Max Longin in Mannheim, Germany. Originally trained as a mathmetician, Mr. Longin developed the concept of the Float bed over the past ten years. Based on the feeling of a small suspended bridge, the design and dimensions of the original concepts were unsatisfactory until Mr. Longin abandoned the assumption that the bed requires vertical supports at each corner. That led to an unconventional solution and the striking appaerance of the final design. The Float bed ships flat and is available in limited quantities directly from the designer.
