Group 4, a design consultancy based in Avon, Connecticut, recently worked with Boise Cascade to develop an innovative delivery system for their copier and printer paper. High-speed copies and printers in print facilities and large corporations require high volumes of cut sheet paper. "The process to retrieve, open and load paper into equipment is inefficient and frustrating to say the least," said Frank von Holzhausen, president of the packaging and product design firm. Boise Cascade recognized the opportunity to develop a new paper delivery system focused on convenience and safety, providing value-added features for a commodity product with tight cost constraints, he added.

The design solution from Group 4 was a patented speed-loaded box or "SPLOX™" that features a wide-grip handle and manageable weight. Users simply pull a tab to splay open the SPLOX with no inner wrap. Storage is convenient and markings indicate remaining volume.
