Conceptual design collaborative To22 brings a hand drawn sketch to life in their new project: Conception. After meticulously and faithfully translating the quintessential "chair napkin sketch" into a three-dimensional CAD file,
they then converted it into a solid steel object utilizing computer controlled water-jet technology. A full-size creation, the piece explores the wonders of micro and macro in a palpable form, reinvigorating the iconic design object with fresh nuance and, yes, irony.

The chair will debut during the 2005 ICFF as part of the The Back Lot offsite exhibition. This is 11th project in the collective's ouvre, representing the halfway mark in their mandate to create 22 design projects before moving on to their next ventures.
