The Platinum II series of NETGEAR's consumer and business-class devices, designed in conjunction with San Francisco-based design consultancy NewDealDesign, comprises enclosures for nearly two dozen wireless and wired NETGEAR routers, gateways and switches. The devices are distinctive for their smooth interface, rounded corners, low profile, and lightly textured white surface, with a side-wraparound overlay label in shiny chrome or matte white. The Platinum II series has recently achieved Gold status in the 2005 IDEA awards, and has also received a Good Design award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.
