Peel is the collaborative effort of Thomas Shea and Rise Endo. Their design projects range from large-scale temporary installations to furniture and housewares. Amis, their newest creations, are interactively programmed LED light objects, using pulse width modulation technology. The LED's are controlled by magnet switches on all 4 sides of the cube that react when another light is placed in close proximity. The frosted acrylic form remains minimal, rightfully allowing the interactive experience to take center stage. When set apart, amis emit a dim, ambient glow and gradually intensify in brightness and radiance when placed closer together.
