FCS -- H-2 Hydrodynamic Fin
FCS, a division of Surf Hardware International, is a brand leader in surfboard fins and other surfing accessories based in Australia with numerous offices located around the globe. They have recently introduced the H-2 advanced surfboard fin. Extensive research included collaborative efforts among hydrodynamics and aquatic materials experts, manufacturing consultants, fin and hardware makers, and elite pro-surfers such as Kelly Slater and Tom Carroll. The end product yields maximum hydrodynamic efficiency in speed and maneuverability to its attached surfboard.
The art and science of improving surfing equipment is a very touchy one, proven by the fact that surfers have relied upon gear that hasn't had major overhaul in over 20 years, since the introduction of the thruster (3-finned board). The H-2 fin is shaped into an elliptical likeness, rather than a dolphin-like profile, significantly increasing speed and efficiency. The H-2's positioning and set angle in respect to the board are just slightly different from traditional settings, yet result in a faster, more fluid and controllable performance.
The fin is composed of a revolutionary combination of epoxy fiberglass and texallium (woven stranded aluminum fibers) skin molded over an ultra-light, high-density polyurethane foam core, and is presently the lightest fin on the market. The H-2 fins are removable, making for convenient shipping and travel with surfboards. This also enables them to be usable across many board styles and brands, and prevents damage to boards and injuries to surfers in most impact situations. The H-2 fin has recently received an overwhelming retail response with high demand and rave reviews.
