Open2Design is a multidisciplinary design firm located in the UK. Their team members possess an array of backgrounds such as lifestyle products, consumer electronics, medical devices and domestic appliances, with a focus on efficient production and emerging technologies. They have recently developed the iPak iPod sleeve for the popular urban street fashion company, Addict.

Existing iPod sleeves include the jelly types that appear to be protective and fail miserably, and the hard plastic ones that crack open upon impact. At first sight, Open2Design's iPak merely appears as yet another (eyes rolling) ordinary iPod case. On the contrary, this case utilizes Santoprene (the same material used in the ubiquitous GoodGrips kitchen tool line), a soft yet durable rubber material that really protects the iPod when it suffers a drop, a whack, or any other action to beget an iPod casualty. The elevated rubber sections on the backside of the case provide extra resiliency to boot. The iPak is currently available in the camouflage pattern shown above.
