Experimental furniture and product design studio Random International's Stuart Wood and Anab Jain have recently ventured into the realm of sustainable work environments. The majority of office jobs allude to notions of fluorescent lighting, blinking once every hour or so, being sedentary for at least a third of the day, and other highlights of the beloved cubicle lifestyle. Light Play, a system that transmits light and shade through an optical fiber input near a window, can relay natural light from outside actions, such as passing birds or rustling leaves, into an interior room. The Sunlight Table utilizes the technology with the sunlight display grid on its surface. The optical fibers transmit directly to the surface, creating a truly natural and ambient dance of natural light and movement.
