| Mike and Maaike -- Windowseat Lounge Over time, unforeseen annoyances by passing strangers have been made possible by the public seating in your community. We may have a solution thanks to Mike and Maaike, a product, furniture and environmental design studio based in San Francisco. As part of a new series of experimental furniture, the Windowseat Lounge chair offers refuge from our perpetually over-stimulating outside world. The enclosed shape creates a defined personal space granting the user a virtual privacy barrier while simultaneously allowing them to observe their surroundings by way of a 360-degree steel swivel base and a peek-a-boo slot at the back end. The chair is fully upholstered over a foam-padded rigid molded frame and is available for limited production runs and custom commissions. So the next time you find yourself in a lobby, an airport, or at the bus stop, look out for the Windowseat Lounge...and if it's not there, crawl into a dark corner and hide.
