At this year's SAFE : Design Takes on Risk exhibit at MoMA, Machineart presented the Inflate-A-Shield CPR barrier designed for Laerdal Medical. The revolutionary new barrier addresses both sanitary issues and optimal breath transfer from rescuer to patient. Integrated within the barrier is a 3M Filtrete hydrophobic filter that eliminates over 99% of airborne bacteria and viruses. The inflated cuff creates a tight seal around the patient's face to ensure that all blown air is sent straight into the lungs while a side port allows the patient's exhaled air to escape when revived. The thin, easily portable, single-use CPR barrier inflates with one breath, efficiently providing superior comfort and protection.
