Essey, with facilities in both Denmark and Finland, designs and manufactures their own line of housewares and furniture. The playful BinBin wastebasket, designed by John Brauer, looks exactly like its contents. Most wastebaskets are so friggin' fugly and/or boring that they deserve to be chucked into an equally fugly and/or boring receptacle. Bin Bin is cast into the likeness of crumpled paper giving an otherwise mundane object a quirky spin and refreshing form, consequently achieving one of Japan's 2005 Good Design Awards. Thanks to its high-density polyethylene construction, it is extremely lightweight and durable. Bin Bin is available in matte white and black.
