| Josh Owen -- Big Ear wine stopper and corkscrew Josh Owen dishes out yet another clever accessory for all you impulse-buying design junkies. The independent Philadelphia based designer gives us the Big Ear wine stopper and corkscrew. The familiar turnkey shape is simplified enough to bypass the cheese-factor that often sends cute design objects to the tacky pile. These wine accessories obviously look cool, but most importantly, the form naturally lends itself to enhancing mechanical and ergonomic functions. The turnkey shape is ideal for operating objects that call for rotational movements, like a wine bottle (duh). Frankly, I think we're all tired of lame corkscrews that yield a crumbled cork garnish as well as stoppers that keep wine about as fresh as a poopy diaper. The Big Ear duo shows great promise in the fight against substandard wine accessories. More info: Josh Owen Company Profile More Bullitts From Josh Owen: Date Posted: November 07, 2005 |
