Wai Lam Wong is an industrial designer located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His latest experimental project, the Bigfoot wheelchair, toys with the intertwined psychological and physical associations that arise in handicapped situations. Wheelchair-bound folks, subjected to at least a zillion stares a day, are constantly seen in their rigid, nonconforming metal and cloth contraptions. Wong proposes Bigfoot as a comical improvement. The hollow cartoon-like shaped legs and seat ergonomically hug the body, acting as a natural extension. The user rolls in style and feels more at ease, both physically and psychologically, as their mode of transportation is looking pretty rad for a change.
