Designing the mobile workplace is a difficult feat; a challenge in both aesthetics and function. The Innovation Lab at Copenhagen's IT University received the mother of all mobile workplace systems, designed by native design duo Bosch & Fjord. The system, dubbed "Plug & Play," allows companies to shrink and grow in an organized and efficient fashion, with the convenience of modular options and complete mobility. All components of the system arrive in shipping crates that act as replaceable outer shells should the office move locations. Various rooms include workstations, kitchens, conference rooms, video-conference rooms, and biomorphic worktables. Packing and unpacking of the entire collection takes approximately 4 hours. When the Innovation Lab decides to move locations, they will quickly pack the rooms into the secure crates and haul them to a new space. Bosch & Fjord have developed a truly unique and flexible workspace solution that will hopefully be available to the public sometime soon.
