Colin Schaelli is a young Swiss industrial designer currently based in Zurich, and soon relocating to Tokyo where he will be showing his personal works in October. Aside from his independent designs, Schaelli has worked with repurposed bag-makers Freitag since early 2004, developing merchandise, accessories, concepts, and point of sale items. This particular Freitag hangtag hangs on each Freitag bag, displaying the product's vitals such as name, description, price and sku. The beautifully constructed, recycled paper tag holds inside a detailed map and story of the Freitag factory—a treat the customer cannot experience without destroying the perforated cover. Schaelli aimed to present a clever crossroads to the customer who must choose between a perfectly preserved tag or the wealth of information (and cool poster) waiting inside.
