nARCHITECTS -- Unpacking

Luxury auto brand Lexus has commissioned NYC-based architecture firm nARCHITECTS to create a mysterious installation to be slowly unveiled over the course of 5 days. This piece, called "Unpacking," clearly reflects nARCHITECTS' strong focus on flexible design and innovative building techniques. Located at New York's World Financial Center Plaza, the exhibit consists of various layers of water-jet cut plexi-glass that have been specifically arranged to celebrate the LS 460 luxury sedan, Lexus' newest release. "Unpacking" sits atop an aluminum light-box base that illuminates the panels and corresponding void in the shape of a car. Beginning on October 16th, a few sections were relocated each day to other areas around the plaza as stand-alone sculptures. The 20th marked a simultaneous event when the last sections were removed and the LS 460 and LS 460 L were officially revealed and nationally launched.
