ID-ONE, a turnkey product design consultancy located in Austin, Texas, received the Most Innovative Exploration award for IDSA's unlimited derby racer competition, held at this year's annual design conference. The slick design was the first asymmetrical car entered in the entire history of the competition. The concept was expressed using high-polished, CNC-cut solid aluminum, focusing on aerodynamics, surfacing, and interaction with the surrounding environment. The 3-wheel layout reduces friction, increases speed, and best of all, looks nothing like your ordinary car. ID-ONE's concept racer was merited on its purity of form and material...and let's face it...everyone loves shiny stuff. Bling bling. Like mosquitoes love a bug zapper.
