Heyday -- Urban Footwear
Heyday, a new footwear brand founded by Boston-based designer Darin Hager, has released a new line of shoes that combine disparate creative elements to form a style that'll appeal to Tokyo and New York trendsetters alike.
Darin Hager has been designing since 1995, and has worked with brands like Puma, Clarks, and Reebok. His experience working with several brand concepts and footwear trends has allowed him to create a brand of his own that will appeal to those creative guys looking for original kicks. There are no Air Force One knock-offs here, as Hager mixes the aesthetic of the classic wedged sole work boot with his savvy understanding of what makes an athletic shoe work. He takes inspiration from accessories like handbags, watches, architecture and apparel, and these inspirations lend Hager's design an upscale and functional quality that shows in the "set back" raw edges, waxed cotton laces, and contrasting triple stitching. The color scheme for Heyday is vibrant and iconic, and uses classic combos like the white/green of tennis trainers, and the brown/orange of traditional work boots. With low production runs, these kicks will surely please those sneakerheads out there.
