Syntes Studio -- O2 Cocoon
Syntes Studio, an industrial design agency from Stockholm, Sweden, recently teamed up with O2, Europe's leading mobile network, to create a new generation of mobile phones. They scoured the world, asking designers, fashion students and musicians from London to Tokyo, "what inspires you in a mobile phone?"
They came up with O2 Cocoon, a sleek phone that hides all of its technology beneath a smooth, white clamshell. Beneath the sleek cover there is an mp3 player, video camera-phone, alarm clock, and FM radio. The outer casing also serves as a LED screen, showing you who's calling or texting, which artist or song you're listening to, and what time it is. If you want to share your tunes with the world, turn on Cocoon's internal speakers and broadcast your soundtrack to all around you. And if you're looking to capture the world, switch to the 2 megapixel camera with flash, zoom and auto focus. At night, slip the cocoon into its base, and it turns into an alarm clock with FM radio. Cocoon is also wired to receive exclusive content anytime the user enters London's premier hotspot, the 02 Arena.
