CMD Product Design and Innovation, a Brisbane-based design and development firm, has a new way for snow sports enthusiast to stay in touch with friends and family while tracking their own performance. Their newest design, Snow Sports Flaik, will change the winter sports experience for all.

Housed within an impact-tested case that can be strapped to the skier's arm, Flaik provides a non-intrusive, rugged device that can withstand all that nature can throw at it. While there are many sporting devices that help users track others while retrieving global positioning information, CMD infused their device with three of the latest telematic technologies that expands the way users can interact. Besides the standard GPS technology to locate friends and family, Flaik includes radio-frequency identification technology (RFID) to retrieve and store data, and CMDA technology to create an expanded network where multiple users can access the same time and frequency within any given space. By incorporating these, Flaik has allowed users to monitor their speed, distance traveled and air time, store the data, and compare their performance against all skiers on the slopes.
