Based on the global response to the inaugural design challenge earlier this year, the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute has brought back the Product Design Challenge in partnership with Autodesk supporting the Design-Led Revolution. The challenge is open to design students and design professionals who have completed the free, online course, Designing Cradle to Cradle Certified Products for the Circular Economy.
The goal of this design challenge is to eliminate the concept of "waste" by designing products with materials that may be perpetually cycled to retain their value as nutrients to fuel growing global economies.
Entries may be submitted started immediately following completion of the course, and must be received no later than December 1, 2015. Prizes will be awarded in four categories (Best Student Project, Best Young Professional Project, Best Use of Autodesk Fusion 360 Tool, and Best Use of Aluminum), and the top selection in each category will receive a $2,000 prize. Winners will be announced in January 2016.
All contest details are available at C2CCertified.org/Challenge. For more information about the course and the Product Design Challenge, please visit C2CCertified.org/education/design-for-the-circular-economy.
