On October 21st Wright opens Le Corbusier + Jeanneret, an exhibition focused on the influence of Le Corbusier's design principles as applied to art, architecture and design and reflected in the objects by the master and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret. The exhibition includes the most comprehensive private collection of designs to come out of Chandigarh where Le Corbusier realized and applied his ideas on the qualities of proportion, form, and color to the city plan and structures as well as the interior layouts and furniture within. Special focus is placed on works that come of the High Court of Chandigarh, the exhibition and sale features a rare and important Judge's Desk designed by Le Corbusier, alongside other works from the Judge's chambers. Another highlight of the sale is a rare Les Mains tapestry, a woven work that further exhibits the multifaceted vision of Le Corbusier. Other lots include a rare and important tree trunk table and a rare library bibliotheque by Pierre Jeanneret.
The exhibition will be presented as a dramatic installation in an Upper East Side townhouse, located at 159 East 64th street. The exhibition runs October 21st – 28th. All lots will be sold at auction in Chicago on October 29th.
