#3262
The project is a very simple one but it covers a great need in the global community. This project, the x-ray bag, will become a harbinger for a new attitude in the design community. The idea that products and can facilitate and encourage meaningful
human connections and transcend the confines of security concerns is legitimate and desirable. We are passing through recent international events with our humanity intact and I am convinced that the enlightenment will continue.
Since September 11th, the global community has been desperately looking for the ways to deconstruct the growing tides of mistrust and hostility. We are constantly being reminded of our differences and of our need to tighten homeland security.
Within this dark scenario, our human bridges are being knocked down and the fabric that unites us is being reduced to threads.
With the increase in security can we still find shared space? Can products be the keys to unlocking new behaviors? Can brand values lead us into the common grounds that unite us in the global village? Yes they can.
The basic design concept is simple but the results are dramatic. The outside of the bags will be designed to co-ordinate with the current fashion trends. The bag is merely a stage for the design event, which emanates from the liner. On the inside
of the bag, within the lining, there will is text, cut out of metal foil, the material which will most strongly glow under the eye of the x-ray and is highly visible in the monitor of security personnel. In this example it reads "have
a nice day".
Once the bag passes through the security check this little detail will celebrate a situation, usually stressful, and reintroduce a relationship based on core values of humanity, communication and joy.
