Design Education Conference VIEW DAY: | SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | SCOTT LUNDBERG, Core-e-spondent Monday July 12 today was a great day . we started with issues of tenure. I discovered a good way to get some attention at an education conference. I asked why tenure? Quickly I realized that had i looked in the mirror yesterday i would have realized that I was the knuckle dragger at the conference. The presentations and papers were excellent. The discussion always seems to find it's way back To the problem of academically supporting a profession that is projected to grow by 28% per year over the next few. How to find the people to train all of the people it will demand? $$$$$$$$$$ We wrapped with a very entertaining panel discussion. It was a light hearted context that brought to the surface some serious issues. there is concern that a profession that is so broadly influenced and influencing is limited by administratively being so closely aligned \ maligned with fine arts, architecture or engineering.
