Digicam

>>what is it?
head mounted digital camera concept

>>what makes this design different or better? (e.g. materials, research)
unlike regular digital cameras it can be worn on your head, so you can take pictures wherever and whenever you want. and since you don't need your hands anymore to snap you can photogaph during driving, climbing biking etc. (see headset.jpg) just look up and to the right with your left eye to check the picture area in the viewfinder and to monitor battery capacity or memory resources. (see cam3_tx.jpg)

this concept consists of three units: the headset, which you wear to take pictures, the data management unit which you put in your pocket, or wear with wristband like watch and a ringlike device which serves as shutter release. put it on the finger most comfortable and when ever you touch it with another finger you close an electric circuit with your skin which sends a signal to the camera to make it take a picture. the separate components that are worn on the body replace a single housing containing all functional units. parts are placed where they are needed and do not interfere. (see 3piece1.jpg and 3piece2.jpg)

the components are adaptable to the unique anatomy of the user, like in today's glasses, therefore becoming a personal product, even though mass produced identically. (see cam1.jpg; cam2.jpg; cam4.jpg)

data no longer is stored locally but is kept only temporarily. pictures are then sent with mobile communicational structures to a central server accessible thru regular online equiptment. you can check your pictures whereever, whenever. if you go on vacation you don't come home with many rolls of film which you have to develop then, but you have them available right after you took them. if you work for a magazine pictures will be recieved almost the instant they were taken.

new materials, like a freely shapable plastic energy source allow to be used as the shell embedding other technical units, as opossed to a housing which serves only structural purposes. the battery is the the housing. (all components in see-thru yellow plastic consist of this material)

>>what hardware and software were used to design it?
sketching, 3d max, cibatool, internet and technical literature for research on technogy, other media for lifestyle reasearch, future trends.

>>how is it intended to be manufactured or produced?
it will be produced as a very personal product. all components already exist already today but are too big or too expensive to be manufactured as a head mounted camera.
