What is it?
A mobile communication/entertainment device for children aged 6-10

What makes this design different or better?
The aim of this project was to bring mobile communication/entertainment technology into a product/system that could be understood and related to by a child aged 6-10 years. "Link", is a highly tactile, mouldable product at the physical level which uses a simple interface system that gives relevant feedback to the young user. Using a system of interlocking forms, each adding a different function to the system, the child can personalise their space creating exciting variations as they explore the virtual world.

Judges commentary:
Gareth: I'm a huge fan of the LEGO programmable bricks (LEGO Mindstorms) and the computer, programming, robotic and engineering skills that they are teaching kids. Link would offer similar 21st century cognitive skills for an even younger user.
