ACTION

On March 21st - Gavin Ivester, Anne Ellegood, and Bruce Nussbaum convened at Core77's headquarters in NYC to judge what would become our largest and most successful competition yet. The judges were able to complete three rounds of analysis, selection, and discussion to determine who would become this year’s design champion.
Working for only four companies in his life—Puma, Nike, Tonic, and Apple, Gavin Ivester’s focus is great product found at the intersection between desire and engineering. As a Senior VP at Puma, Gavin currently leads a team of designers, developers, and product managers to create seasonal collections of footwear and other accessories.
The editorial page editor for Business Week, Bruce Nussbaum was instrumental
in convincing the magazine to support the Industrial Design Society of America's annual Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA), published each
June. Before joining Business Week in 1976, he wrote a column on the bond market for The American Banker and was executive editor of Manhattan, Inc.
He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relation and the author of two books, World after Oil and Good Intentions.
Anne Ellegood is the associate curator at the New Museum. She received her MA in Curatorial Studies from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College in 1998. She has organized exhibitions of the work of Candice Breitz, David Galbraith & Teresa Seemann, and Kristin Lucas & Joe McKay, among others. Out of Site, a group show exploring fictional architectural spaces, opens in June 2002.
