Della Light

Lighting is all about the experience. The solitary source of lighting provided by flashlights must provide its user with a sense of security, comfort, and possibly protection. The qualities of flashlights on the market convey their use as a tool to address specific issues or situations but tools are often misplaced, lost, or hidden away. An object used as a tool doesn't have to look like a tool, if its unused state provides an experience. A standing lamp provides ambient light for common areas, bedrooms, and offices but it is not portable in the way as a flashlight. Before going out of the house at night, it is not uncommon to go in search of a flashlight, but if your standing lamp was also a flashlight, it would be ready to take where you need it. Current flashlights are still considered tools that meet the needs of specific situations and most are stored in drawers, on key chains, under beds, and in garages. We store them away because they don’t fit our daily activities but this makes it easier for them to get misplaced.
