Like Avril, star designers are pressured into making the same thing over and over again: Trapped now by his own imagery, Gehry apparently wanted to give Millennium Park's creators something less showy than his trademark metallic ribbons and swirls. But they insisted on their own version of what by now has become the Gehry formula. The result is both a stunning example of what some call wow-chitecture and a rather superficial spin on what Gehry has done before.
