"It is very easy to pick a kryptonite lock with a bic pen. All you have to do is remove the pen from the plastic tube, and insert the plastic tube into the lock and then wiggle and twist and push on the pen.
"At first I thought it was a hoax. A coworker told me that his brother saw somebody do it. then I was playing around with my pen and his EV disc lock (NY chain lock) and the lock fell open.
"There are a couple of threads on the web on this topic, all of which make it seem like a hoax, but I have unlocked and locked the EV lock in as little as 30 seconds. We called kryptonite and they sounded frantic. They said they found out about it on Monday and they have been having meetings and working on it all week. they said they hope to have a solution by the end of the week, but they did not think they would be able to return all of the phone calls by then."
