If you are not yet registered to vote, now is the time to do it. If you are registered to vote, it may be a good idea to check your registration status, especially if you are a student or you have moved recently. If you are not eligible to vote, encouraging others to register can make a big difference.
In the 2000 U.S. presidential election, only 51.3% of the voting-age population showed up to vote. People between 18-34 years old had the lowest turnout. People between 55-74 years old had the highest turnout.
