In close cooperation with interdisciplinary development teams, industrial designers serve by providing products, vehicles, or systems. They carry most of the responsibility for the formal characteristics of a product and are partly responsible for its functional characteristics as well. They work in that border area between industry and commerce, technology, ecology, art, and culture.
