The University of Western Sydney (UWS) is one of Australia's largest universities with more than 35000 students with six campuses accros the Greater Sydeny region. The Design programs are offered exclusively at the Penrith Campus approximately 60 kilometres from Sydney. The friendly and communal atmosphere of the smaller campuses encourages academics to take a mroe student centred approach to teaching. The overall aim of the courses in Industrial Design and Design and Technology are to develop a student's ability to think in strategic terms, to mmake decisions and solve problems by becoming involved in industry collaborative project work.
