Product Development Technologies, a product design and development firm based in Lincolnshire, Illinois, worked with Dell Design and Engineering teams to create the Dell Latitude D-series D/View notebook stand. PDT provided design and engineering services on what turned out to be a new class of product. By mounting a notebook computer in the stand, users can remove a traditional desktop monitor while keeping their screen in an ergonomically correct position.

The new stand is small, supports three different notebook lines under development, reduces overall cost of ownership, saves desk space and provides a highly mobile and ergonomically correct overall notebook strategy and philosophy.
