FLEX, a product design and development consultancy based in the Netherlands, recently completed work on a line of furniture for the healthcare market. Developed for EXSTA, the products include a lounge chair, stackable tables and a multifunctional chair. The items all emphasize a high degree of functionality, are robust, and easy to clean. Sven van Westreenen and Jeroen Verbrugge, the designers at FLEX responsible for the final product, focused on the notion of "getting better" in developing their vision. The contemporary character and the clear visual statement of the furniture helps patients feel more at ease in a usually stressful environment.
