Objective: Helping further the educational development of the American population through the creation of a working micro-solar system that can be easily transported to and from grass roots festival events where people gather.

Integrating the micro solar system into a bicycle trailer helps with mobility on site, provides storage for handouts, and creates a re-use for a product that families outgrow as their children grow up. Families across the country can re-use old children carriers and become anything from educators themselves at green events, to the parents with the best tricked out solar powered buggy on the block. A solar powered bicycle trailer is also market viable to bicycle camping and tour groups, but must first be demonstrated that it can work. The Ecopioneer program was established to educate by creating onsite working solar systems that inspire and illustrate change. The theme of the covered wagon relates to the pioneering spirit and helps illustrate that we need to reconsider simplier ways of life while still integrating new modern renewable technology.

A brilliant reuse for the double buggy when it retires. We could involve our 9 year old in the green movement as he helps trick out the new mobile solar generator that will also stow gear for bike camping! Mt. Washington Hill Climb here we come!

An item that you would use once a week, once a month or once a year doesn't same much energy. More energy consumed in the fabrication of the solar panels than this thing will ever save.

This is a cool project, but seems mislabeled. It is not really an electric vehicle, i.e. it does not move under electric power. I know it's a much tougher project than what is shown, but it WOULD be great to have a solar powered electric motorized bike trailer. When you hook it to your bike, it pushes you along (controlled by a wireless throttle on the bike). The nice thing is when you take it off, you have a normal bike again without any extra weight. You get electric assistance only when you

to LENS.. you are correct, it is more about people creating their own onsite education and demonstration tool. how about DIY eco-edu-tainment trailer

Great idea. Portable power unit good for those ice storms that creep up on ya. At least we'll have lights who needs candles.

As an environmental educator I can imagine 100 uses for this cool mobile renewable power supply. Very cool!!

Love it! We have been dreaming up a system like this, happy you did it! We are creating our Green Tv show called GAIA TV. We are a grass roots company, Green Earth Films, and are in pre-production mode. We are documenting and covering various green technologies on our show. I would love to do a little piece on your Light Electric Vehicle. A flexible, sustainable concept. I can see so many different application for this and my family. Scott you're a clever guy keep up the good work.

Awesome! But you must orient PV at the angle of the sun, and your cloth awning should have a REFLECTORIZED MYLAR surface to reflect back on the solar panels and 2X the efficiency.
