Yeago

Hiking backpacks encourage users to explore and enjoy the great outdoors. The materials and manufacturing processes used in their production destroy our planet. There is no purpose for a hiking backpack if there are no outdoors to enjoy.

This leads me to my project - the Yeago lightweight sustainable hiking backpack.

Yeago utilizes materials that don't skimp on function to remain sustainable. Ingeo corn-plastic pack fabric is lightweight and shares similar abrasion properties to nylon. Bamboo, a soft breathable fabric from 100% bamboo is used on all interaction points. The formed Eco resin rigid framesheet is made from 40% post industrial waste, 100% recyclable, and is the strongest commercial resin available. The framesheet also has two aluminum stays made from 100% recycled cans to increase stiffness. All materials are sourced within 1000 miles of the fictional Colorado-based headquarters to reduce pollution, energy consumption, and cost from material transportation.

Sustainability is just a bonus with Yeago, featuring multiple innovations in backpack design. All hips are not made equal, so Yeago implements a custom-fit dual-strap hipbelt to conform around your iliac crest. The built-in rainfly system made from 100% reclaimed sailcloth allows users to quickly protect gear from the elements. The quick-release clips save your tired shoulders; simply click and Yeago slides off. The ventilated backpanel, waterproof zippers, soy foam cushioning, seven individual pockets, height adjustability, and more add additional value.

Yeago is a full-featured, rugged and lightweight backpack that helps keep our outdoors around to enjoy; through material selection, manufacturing processes, and product use.
